This photograph captures the aftermath of the powerful January 2018 blizzard that brought much of North America, including New York City, to a standstill. Following a partial thaw, these substantial blocks of ice remained floating in the Hudson River, surrounding the historic Lilac steamship at its dock—a juxtaposition of industrial heritage against nature's raw power.
The image reveals a rarely seen perspective of Manhattan's waterfront, with fragmented ice creating geometric patterns across the river's surface. The frame is made in Germany from FSC®-certified wood. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests that meet the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council. The frame is equipped with edge-ground float glass, an acid-free insert, and a sturdy rear panel. The rear panels are equipped with hangers.
